March 7 and 14
A two-part ritual workshop in collaboration with Katsarida Press, inspired by their publication of a Greek translation of CAConrad’s (SOMA)TIC Poetry Exercises ΚΗΣΕΙΣ ΤΟΥ CAConrad. Over two afternoons, participants gathered at Fydani to explore how ritual, attention, and the body can open new pathways for creativity.
The first session began with stories of personal rituals and creative practices. Participants shared memories, drew sigils representing their intentions, and transferred them onto their bodies. Words pulled randomly from a basket became “filters” for the week ahead—guiding each person as they experimented with one of CAConrad’s rituals.
When the group reconvened a week later, the room filled with reflections, revelations, and unexpected creative results. Participants spoke about shifts in perception, time, and sensitivity that emerged through their ritual practices and shared the poems, fragments of insight, and bodily awareness that had surfaced during the process. A warm ceremonial drink—cacao, ginger, turmeric, and spices inspired by ancient Soma preparations—was shared as the group listened to a story an audio recording of CAConrad story about surrealist poet Robert Desnos and the power of creative interventions.
The workshop culminated with small groups inventing entirely new rituals for creative inspiration. We closed with a circle in which each person holding the pulse of the person next to them reflected on our collective or individual next steps.
Katsarida Press is a newly established artistic venture that is based in Athens. Publishing mostly experimental and innovative poetry and active in the field of translation and self-publishing. Their aim is to introduce to the Greek literary scene experimental writing and to challenge the notions around publishing, and the public image of publishers. @katsarida.press
