What sets me in (e)motion? How can landscape activate embodied memory? How does the body create new space and time and what kind of paths might emerge? Memory fragments will meet in the present to weave new relations, to tell a new story. During this workshop we give space and time for what needs to be articulated between the body and the landscape.
By actively mapping pathways, among the trees, rocks and monuments on the hill of Filopappou, we attempt to inhabit the landscape through movement. Using textiles and natural materials we connect memories, impressions, sensations, creating a path of movement based on trial, discovery and transformation. By playing with improvisations we explore personal expression to discover the external and internal landscape, the fragile and the vulnerable, the fragment and the in-between, the encounter with the Other.
We use tools from Release Technique, Viewpoints and Composition, Contact Improvisation and Somatics.
Workshop led by Emmanuela Korki (dancer, actress, choreographer) and Artemis Papageorgiou (intermedia artist, architect, movement practitioner).
